“…eating is an agricultural act and producing is a gastronomical art”. This is the slogan that Terra Madre uses for being recognized from food lovers.
Terra Madre is a project conveived by Slow Food which had always stood for the pleasures of the table, for the importance of good-tasting food and for the defence of cultures facing growing homogenization and economies of scale.
Terra Madre was born to give voice to rural food producers, breeders and fishermen who try to pursue their objectives in total respect of the nature.
This year, the third edition of the project will be held during Torino’s Salone del Gusto 2008, the last weekend in October. This event will bring together chefs, food communities, academics from all around the world in order to increase small-scale, traditional and sustainable food production.
